Know Your Korean Makeup 101: Etude House

Know Your Korean Makeup 101: Etude House

With such a boom here in the Philippines, Korean make-up brands are popping out here and there. We used to only have one, 2-3 years ago and I doubt anyone recognizes that brand anymore. You love your KPOP fashion (that's why you're here at Coordinuna) so we're sure you love Korean Make-Up brands as well and with so many choices to choose from, which would actually work for you? Here's a little guide on Korean Makeup brands so next time you won't get splurging just because your favorite idol is the endorser of the brand. ;)

Etude House

Oh how to start with this brand? The first time I ever stepped into their first branch here in Manila, I knew I was going to hoard a good load of their products but I found myself loving 2 of their products and surprisingly, I got into skin care because of this brand.

Etude House boasts a roster of top Korean acts endorsing their products. Let's name some! Go Ara, Park Shin Hye, Lee Minho, Jang Geun Seuk (oh yes) and now Dara from 2NE1 (the 2NE1 girls also had their own special line) and of course, SHINee which we're sure SHAWOLs are anticipating for.

I've worked with Etude House Philippines for some event tie-ups and I'm really happy how much they're pushing the brand to not just KPOP fans but the make-up loving market as well. With SHINee now endorsing Etude House, they've got a whole new drive to make Etude House, your favorite Korean Make-Up brand here in the Philippines.

Here's 2 of my favorites, recommended and you could say part of their best sellers as well.

Moisfull Collagen Line: I got this as a gift supposedly for my mom but ended up using some of it as well. The brand claims the product to be "a gel textured facial toner removes pore buildup while moisturizing and tightening complexion". Manila is very humid, combined with all the pollution from commuting and such (unless you got yourself a car...) so at first I thought, Moistfull wouldn't fit such weather as gel types usually just makes your face...stickier.

However, Moistfull is very light and yes, makes your skin look very hydrated even without all the bbcream and foundation. It's also good for those exposed to the airconditioner (whether at work or school) everyday as those nasties tend up to make your skin dry and flaky. It gets absorbed easily and gives an ample amount on hydration, giving your skin an improved look.

Nymph Aura Volumer: This small bottle creates MAGIC. At first, I was like "Eh? BBCreams contain moisturizers already, right? Why add another?". Apparently, the Nymph Aura Volumer gives you that dewy skin like those of your favorite Korean actresses, making your skin look even healthier.

How to use? 1:3 mix with your favorite BBCream which means 1/4 Nymph Aura Volumer and 3/4 BB Cream. You basically mix both to have a lighter consistency for added moisture as you put on your favorite BBCream. Don't add too much as well as it will dilute your bbcream, making your bbcream lessen its coverage. I personally use this as a highlighter as well during special events.

Etude House in my opinion is pretty much targetted to teens to young adults. There's a wide variety to choose from and Etude House assures not just pretty packaging but useful items to make you look brighter.
